Cameroon - More than fair - Kumbo
€ 7,95 - € 28,50 incl. VAT
The coffee from Cameroon is the first coffee of which Branderij Luijendijk, more than 6 years ago, bought a bale. And are therefore pleased that we can offer the coffee to you again this year. Under the leadership of Matti Foncha we managed to increase both the production and quality of the coffee. This coffee is part of the Circle of Excellence program which defines what the farmers have to do to make a real specialty product but also what they get paid for and help with. Thus, we work according to the principles of "More than Fair Certified". Expect a full body, flavors of creamy milk chocolate, nuts and notes of dried fruit.
This year we managed to get a container to the Netherlands directly with Matti from Cameroon Boyo. Special because this all happened, direct trade, without a traditional importer and therefore we were able to pay a "more than fair" price without the intervention of traders. Maximum value for the farmers, delicious coffee in Europe. Branderij Luijendijk is therefore very proud to be able to offer this product this year.
The villages these coffees come from are part of the "circle of excellence" program which aims to improve quality. Our producer has years of experience in producing specialty coffee. Cameroon Boyo helps the farmers with the techniques and knowledge to improve the quality of the coffee, for example by building washing stations in the villages. Because of all this energy this coffee has become what it is today.
However, this is not going without a hitch. Past years have been tough for farmers in the Boyo region, internal conflict between the government and groups has made it difficult to grow, transport and process coffee. This makes the already complex process even more complicated. For example, washing stations have been decommissioned and security is a major issue.
